Hans Moritz is Managing Partner at CapstoneLaw where he counsels international and domestic asset managers, funds, institutional and private investors, banks and other financial institutions on their investment management activities. Hansâs breadth of legal expertise and leadership of complex transactions across multiple jurisdictions have earned him a reputation as a leader in private fund matters.
Hans focuses on advising sponsors on a wide variety of strategies including private equity, venture capital, renewable power, private credit including direct lending, corporate private placement as well as mezzanine financing and real estate. He advises on formation, marketing and management of private funds, manager and fund level transactions as well as regulatory and operational issues. Hans is experienced in the acquisition of fund interests and formation and negotiation of co-investments. He counsels major institutional and private investors in connection with their investments in private equity, private debt and infrastructure.Â
Hans has guided clients through multiple commercial, legal and operational challenges including key person events, investor defaults, advisory board resolutions, spin-outs and other significant transactions. As in-demand speaker, Hans is addressing audiences at international fund and investor conferences and is involved in developing policy maker initiatives. Â
Prior to co-founding CapstoneLaw Hans worked inter alia for UBS, Swiss Re Private Equity Partners and most recently at BlackRock overlooking their private equity and infrastructure business in Switzerland and continental Europe as deputy general counsel Switzerland. Hans received his Doctorate in Law from the University of Lausanne (2004) and his Master in European and International Economic Law from LMU Munich (2003). He is admitted in Zurich (Art. 28 BGFA) and Munich.
